Oman : Nirmala Goveas, Vivian Fernandes Enter Gulf Voice Finals

Muscat, Oct 8: Vivian Sandeep Fernandes and Nirmala Goveas marched into the finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore by overcoming the tough competition from other contestants at the Sultanate of Oman semi-finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore II.
Music is the soul of language. It is language to the ears of music lovers. Every region has its own essence of music. To regale in this essence, we have the Gulf Voice of Mangalore, which is a platform for all our talented singers in the Gulf. Starting with a very small base, GVOM has become the highlight for the search of talent in our Mangalorean community. Its popularity has sky rocketed since its inception and it is due to the passionate team that the 12 talented semi-finalist of Muscat staged their Music talent to an awesome audience here in Muscat- Sts Peter and Paul Church - Ruwi today, 7th October 2010.
The passionate effort of the MCCP team and some well versed supporters staged a great semi-final round of Konkani reality show in Oman. The first session of Gulf Voice of Mangalore in 2008 was a seedling and now the efforts and the enthusiasm was spoken so much about and has also created a great music sensation in and around the Gulf region. As the podium was ready to set blaze of Music to all people of Muscat, the 12 semi-finalist of Muscat showed their confidence and eagerness to perform live with the best band of Mangalore. The semi-finalist were groomed and motivated by Muscat excellent Music leader a great mentor Apolinaris Dsouza.
Lavina D’sa welcomed everyone to the gala event with her warm speech. The programe commenced with a prayer by our respected Fr. Albert D’Silva. Suraj Rebello, main co-ordinator of the GVOM welcomed the gathering to the mega event and promised them an evening of wholesome entertainment. Monica Dantis, president of the MCCP escorted Valerian Peris, Fr Albert and Leslie Rego for the lighting of the Divo; which marked the inaugural of the event.
Leslie Rego, set the stage ablaze and sashayed the show with finesse and enthralled the audience with his comparing.

Due to unavoidable reasons sixth female contestant Victoria Suares could not participate in the semifinals.
Joel Pereira, Claud D’souza and Reena Goveas were honored and were by escorted by Stanley Fernandes, Henry Martis and Donald Pinto. Monica Dantis honored Fr. Albert Dsilva.
To commensurate our budding talents we had talented musicians which helped the participants render their best. On the keyboard we had Satish Kannur, R Stanley V Joseph as the lead guitarist, Baiju Sarsappan at the Bass Guitar and Pradeep Radhakrishnan at Electronic drums. Music was organized by Mr. Mohd Kasim of Harmony Institute, Al Ghubra.

The music team was honored by Oswald Dsouza. Monica Dantis and Suraj Rebello honored all the 11 semifinals. The judges Claud Dsouza, Joel Pereira and Reena Dsouza were honored by the Core team. Apolinaris Dsouza was thanked and honored by Father Albert Dsilva.
The evening had a glamorous effect with performance by king of comedy Dolla and vibrat singers Claud and Reena D’souza accompanied by Sangeeth Guru Joel Periera.
The evening ended on a celebration note for Vivian Sandeep Fernandes and Nirmala Goveas who marched into the Finals of the GVOM 2010 to be held in Dubai Oct. 22, 2010.
