Kapikad's Cha Parka Troupe Celebrates Silver Jubilee Amidst Rousing Applause

Mangalore, Oct 9: Tulu drama artiste of Telikeda Bolli fame Devadas Kapikad’s ‘Cha Parka Kalavider Kudla’ troupe celebrated its silver jubilee of threatrical success with a programme at Town Hall here on Saturday October 9.
The programme was organised with the blessings of Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade. Karavali Group of Colleges founder president Ganesh Rao presided.
Alva's Education Foundation chairman Mohan Alva lighted the lamp to inaugurate the programme and released a souvenir ‘Bolli’. In his speech he said that he would look forward to more dramas from the Cha Parka troupe in the coming days.
Mayor Rajani Dugganna, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, state Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor, film producer P Sanjeeva Dandekeri, Jayakirana paper owner Prakash Pandeshwar, Dix Shipping managing director Devanand Shetty and Mysore entrepreneur Sudhakar Shetty among others participated as chief guests. Jagannath Shetty Bala, Kannada actors Vinod Alva, Shivadhwaj and Karthik Shetty among others were present.
Devadas Kapikad and his wife Sharmila Kapikad were felicitated on the occasion by Mohan Alva and Rajani Dugganna, mayor of Mangalore City Corporation.
In his acceptance speech, Kapikad said that his brilliant team is the main reason of the troupe's success. He recalled the amazing support shown by his fans in gulf countries, Mumbai and everywhere apart from coastal districts.
Kadri Navaneeth Shetty delivered the congratulatory address and said that Devadas Kapikad is a factory for producing future Tulu artistes.
Jagatika Buntara Sangha Okkoota president Ajit Kumar Rai Maladi who spoke on the occasion said team work is not an easy job as viewpoint of each individual differs and Devdas Kapikad is a good team worker as he has emerged as a brand artiste in spite of going through difficult times in his career.
As part of the cultural programme ‘Samskrutika Sourabha,’ Kannada-Tulu folk songs, dance, comedy shows and variety entertainment programmes among others were presented.
Literary cultural organization Ranga Chavadi organized the programme under the guidance of V G Pal. On the occasion the website of Cha Parka troupe www.chaparka.com was launched.
