Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 10.55 lac from passenger at Mangaluru airport

Mangaluru, Sep 13: The Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport on Tuesday September 14, detected an attempt to smuggle gold by a passenger from Dubai.

The accused passenger, Hussain Raazi Moideen Aboobaker (26) arrived by Air India Express Flight IX384. He hails from Kasaragod.

The officers Customs seized gold of 24 carat purity totally weighing 219 grams in net valued at Rs 10,55,580 from the passenger.

The gold was being smuggled by way of concealment in two packing boxes of toy kitchen sets.
