Mangalore: Tiara 6.0, Sub-national Fest Held at St Joseph Engineering College

Mangalore, Oct 12: The Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (IEEE), St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) organized Tiara 6.0, the annual sub-national fest on Saturday October 9 and Sunday October 10.
Professor C R Nataraj of Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore inaugurated the fest. He briefed on the benefits of students joining IEEE.He also gave an insight of how the IEEE transactions and conferences would help students develop their technical, non- technical and over-all leadership qualities.
Fr Valerian D’Souza presided. He insisted the students to excel not just in academics but also in extra and co-curricular activities.
The other dignitaries on the stage were the principal Dr Joseph Gonsalves, the dean professor Jayakar Hegde, the head of the department of Electronics & Communicaton Dr Pius Pinto, the branch counselor professor Prajwal D’Souza and the student chairperson Floid Costa. Sheena Dias welcomed the gathering. Aquin read out the report for the year 2009 and Flexon Fernandes and Prima D’Silva compered the programme.
Many events which were conducted on the occasion included Xplore- technical presentation, Xtreme Programming-programming contest, Trade Off- logic design contest, Contraption, Exquizit-technical quiz competition, Tech Leader, Cyber Quest, Gaming, slow bike race, mad adds, cooking without fire and so on.
The valedictory function was held on October 10.The chief guest was was Fr Valerian D’Souza, the director and the president Fr Henry Mascarenhas the assistant director. The programme was a grand success.
