Mangaluru, Oct 12: The word 'Navaratri' is derived from two Sanskrit words - 'Nava' means nine and 'Ratri' means night. Navaratri is a nine-day festival observed in honour of Goddess Durga by Hindus across the world, to pay respect to her nine avatars (forms).

Nowadays, many women engage themselves in photoshoots by dressing themselves up in various forms (avatar) of goddess Devi. But, recently a photograph of Bengaluru based Soumya D Saha, where she dressed up as Devi, has gone viral on social media.

The photograph has received immense positive response from fans and followers. Makeup artist Prathibha Dayanand Kukkaje has handled the makeup for Soumya. Photographer Dayanand Kukkaje has brilliantly captured the photographs.

Reacting to her photograph, Soumya said that the experience of dressing up as Devi was extraordinary. Makeup and even the photography was unique.

It may be recalled that Prathibha offered her makeup services to singer Akhila Pajjimannu and actor Saptha Pavoor as goddess Sharada. Those photographs also received good response on social media.

That photograph is a real master piece. Soumya looks so beautiful, graceful and serene like a real Goddess in fact with that make up, saree, the throne, the trishul etc. Beautiful and flawless make up, amazing picture perfect photography. Her posture & calmness depicts the " Devi " in a proper way. Stay Blessed Soumya. May the Devi Bless you abundantly always.
