Mangaluru, Nov 13: “The aim of BJP is to make country free from Congress’ ideology and not to eradicate the Congress party from the country. The country needs an effective opposition party,” said B L Santhosh, national general secretary (organising) of the BJP.

He was speaking during the valedictory programme of the two-day state-level workshop organised for the representatives of 24 cells of BJP here at TV Raman Pai here on Saturday November 13.

Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Santhosh said, “Rahul Gandhi is a part-time politician. He has no experience of politics. He tweets sitting at a place.

“As news will appear in front page of the newspapers, if Narendra Modi is criticised, Congress leaders will criticize him personally. Including the Congress, the opposition parties should give a responsible statement. Personally targeting anyone is not fair.

“When election approaches, opposition parties start to slam RSS. They behave like that to strengthen their vote bank. As RSS is being targeted, everyone has realized this. Muslims should think on their statements. When speaking privately, everyone who criticise, laud RSS.

“Congress leaders who grew up with western thoughts, had not given time for the administration during their rule. They performed their administration duties whenever they found spare time. As a result, we are facing such situation now. There is opportunity for commitment and talent in the Congress. Family politics is given importance there. Congress has failed to become an effective opposition party.

“The BJP will grow and take its activists along with it. Because of BJP, all political parties are giving prominence to its workers. Country is heading towards development and change. People will not support those who disrupt development. Let us all work for the country’s development,” he said.

Santhosh also said that benefits are directly transferred to the bank accounts of people. “In the coming days, as many as 23,000 petrol pumps will have electric vehicle charging units. The country is changing. The concept of ‘Swadeshi’, ‘Nationality’ and ‘Atmanirbar’ has got prominence now. The team which was claiming to return awards now is not receiving any awards. As they cannot face elections, they are involved in subversive politics. But people of the country will not allow this,” he said.

BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, ministers Kota Srinivas Poojary, S Angara, and others were present.
