Puttur, Nov 15: Personnel of the women's police station in the city have arrested Ganesh from Ujire and Lingappa from Mudigere. The arrested persons have been accused of helping Raju Hosmath, leader of a Dalit organization, who has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, to escape.

A case had been registered against Raju Hosmath a few days back, relating to sexually harassing a girl belonging to his own community. After the case was filed, Raju Hosmath went underground. There was information that the accused had been dropped off in a car to Mudigere.
