Nov 16: Dakshina Kannada reports 13 corona cases, one death; Udupi adds 8 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Nov 16: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, November 16, reported 13 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 8 cases.

As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 21,81,073 samples have been tested so far, out of which 20,65,382 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,691 out of which 127 are currently active.

As many as 8 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,693.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,65,970 as fine in 88,730 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,47,415 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 8 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 76,797 out of which 45 are currently active.

A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far.

So far 9,20,467 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 5,48,868 have received the second dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
