Mysuru: Group of 14 Karnataka bishops to fight anti-conversion law legally

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (SP)

Mysuru, Dec 23: At a time when the state government has decided to go ahead with the adoption of a bill against religious conversions, a group of 14 bishops from across Karnataka has decided to meet soon and chalk out a strategy to carry on legal fight against the said law. The group feels that this act specifically targets the Christians.

Bishop of Mysore, Dr K A William, said that the Christians have never indulged in religious conversions and hence there is no question of being jittery about the law. He said that the Mysore diocese is running over 150 institutions and imparts education to lacs of children. "We have extended a lot of service during the Covid period. But we have never enticed anyone to change their religion," he clarified.

Bishop Dr K A William

He lamented that a situation has arisen in which some people have been levelling baseless allegations. He said that there are enough provisions in the existing laws to punish those involved with forcible conversions and hence there is no need for any fresh law. At the same time, he informed that the group of bishops from the state will meet soon to discuss further steps if the said act comes into being in Karnataka.

He said that the Indian constitution guarantees equality, freedom, and brotherhood. He felt that no government should go against these principles.

Forced conversions (if any) are wrong and should never happen, but it is enshrined in our Indian constitution to propagate ones faith is permitted. If anyone thinks they can stop the peaceful spread of Christianity then they are dead wrong. The two states in India when Christians have grown from 2% to over 10-15% since 2014 are Punjab and Andhra. In Mumbai over 30,000 Sindhi's have converted to Christianity. The more pressure they put on the church, the more faster Christianity will spread.

This Conversion business has being prospering since very long having full support of then government. Now why some people r opposing it because it is a lucrative business funded by some western countries. Thousands of crores r being funded for this conversion business. Vested interests by foreign countries to destabilise our culture. Our indian govt should deal with this very strictly, some people like it or not.

Fear of these truth emerging out and collusion of many christian revenue officials favoring christians may push them down .That is the reason for the agitation.

What is the definition of forced conversion? Is it possible in Democracy forced conversion? here word force is used to justify their action. This law is to harass Christian missionaries. Christians believe in quality not quantity. Because Jesus called his followers as Light and Salt of the world.

One thing we need to keep in mind is that "Forced conversion" should not be thought as conversion using a sword or gun, which doesn't happen anymore. Typically conversion occurs through inducement, brain washing, covert operations, agents etc.. Institutions, healthcare and other services have proven to be successful in predatory practice of poaching souls for harvesting and a lot of money has been pumped from international sources to increases the numbers. The notion here is that there is strength in numbers while the actually spiritual needs of the individual is ignored. I am assuming that spiritual guidance should not be provided by an owner or mentor instead it is a walk with the others who are seeking the same goal.

From 1947 till 2014 Christian population declined to mere 1.8% and continuing to decline. Its only after 2014 till date declining Christian population of minuscule number is threatening the present govt. This declining number is insignificant and can not alter the voting results.

Lets be pragmatic. The problem is 3 fold. One , there is no strong political party backing up Catholics. The leaders who pretend to back up are outrightly rejected by public and are useless, just good enough for press conferences. Have you seen any worthwhile action. I think the leaders want the bill to be implemented and then use it as a election issue and a vote bank tool, stating that 'if we are elected, we will repeal the bill'. Two- Christians from the BJP Minority Morcha are pro Govt and support this , or not against this bill. In other words, there are traitors among Catholics. Three- No unity among minorities. Minority factions are divided .One faction has remained neutral citing Catholic position during CAA protests. All these have led to BJP openly thumping their chest and braying 'we dont need those minority votes'. We just have to wait for gods will.

Sunjay, if someone murder my neighbor just do nothing and leave them just because law is taking place. In India how rape cases happend. Anyone took those punishments? Victims parents are still struggling. This conversion law is worst than that just to harras the peace loving societies. Again when your mind is full of hate you wont understand. Day will come everyone of hatemongers will understand and will beg for mercy from same Christians. Wait for your time. Many successful Country have broken and people are fled as refugees to Christian nations most of them were Hindus and muslims. So try your hate as much you like but Christians will always win and do the charity work for your own poor Hindus in providing education and hospital care. Till them whishjng your and your family Merry Christmas and much love from suffering christ from heavy cross

I don't think this will become successful.because their target is christian.and power is in their hands. They can do anything upside down.because they are in majority. But but I can say victory will be ours not now.later when Jesus comes second time with glory and majesty. These people can do anything for power. But but in front of our eyes many rulers came and gone.and yet to come. Many kings fought with swords and machete saying this kingdom is mine this country is mine Alexander conquered almost all world. Where are these today? What did they take from here? Leave the battle to Jesus victory will be ours. St. Paul says rejoice and again I say to you rejoice and pray without ceasing and give thanks to God in all circumstances.for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ for all of us

If Dalits and the neglected destitutes of India get respect as human equal to other humans, why then oppose conversion? So much of hate and discrimination, caste systems, perpetual conflicts between the "Thakurs" and the "Dalits"; if the Christianity gives them back the Dignity of a human being, let it be.

Shankar / Sanjay- There is no problem if any law passed in the parliament and state assemblies with full discussions and taking in confidence with concerned people. Also the law enforcement must be conducted by govt agencies only and without any bias. In this present scenario there is 100% chances are there to take the law in hand by BD,VHP etc with the support of Govt to keep the relegion issue alive and taken as Vote bank of majority. Everybody knows no one is converting by force or allurement because faith is not so weak

I am against all conversions. Having said that, this law will become another 'anti-rape' law, where a mere accusation WILL throw an innocent person in the jail, and remain an UNDER-TRIAL for years. SC and the High courts have said that over 80% of the rape cases brought to court are false allegations, used by people to destroy others. Those accused of rape, even if innocent, not only remain behind bars for years, but also lose their 100% social reputation. This law against conversions will send a large number of Christians behind bars EVEN IF 100% innocent. So, it is in the Christians' interest to close ALL educational institutions, hospitals, orphanages, UNLESS only Christians are admitted to them.

Sanjay Hebri..it's not about getting scared. It's about the stupid law which won't serve any purpose. If Christians have converted hindus then they would have been 80% now but they are less than 3%. Remember farm laws. How stupidly central government brought these laws and now they have taken back. Instead of going for all this nonsense it's not wise to get stupid laws for vote bank as BJP has nothing to show as development of India. They ruined the economy and these laws are just to divert the attention of people. Why government is not bringing strict law against corrupt and criminals? Is it not because more than 98% of our politicians are corrupt and criminals?????

At last these children will question parents why did you gave birth to me? Me also born in a poor family.when I had tough time me also thinking y I born? But today I understand that for my birth parents were not responsible. In every situation I remember God and he is responsible. In old testament when Joseph was put in a pit and sold later when he came to power he told God was responsible not you.

The foreign Govt must take note of this and put an end immediately. Christian countries must also cut down jobs given to the Hindus. Then soon everything will come on track.

Without Him we can do nothing.. how about a statewide fasting and prayer asking His forgiveness for our sins and praying for His intervention in the this crisis. Nothing is impossible for Him. There plan was initiated since 1925 and since than they keep on creating back o back issues. And they will not spare any one ( Either Muslim, Christian, Dalit's, Communist, ) unless we resist them in any manner. And finally Brahmins will rule this country ( if their plan succeed.

According to you ,if the thief robs your assets without attacking you, is a good person . Can you challenge me in the name of Jesus that all the bishops of Karnataka jointly or severally will be able to restore those temple land to the temple and original owners , if they are true to Jesus. Impossible sir. They will shield those erred person and that gazetted officer only .
