'Sauharda Christmas 2010' Spreads Message of Goodwill, Peace

Mangalore, Dec 5: Karnataka Christian Educational Society, Mangalore Christian Council (MCC), Mangalore Diocesan Ecumenical Council (MDEC) jointly organized Souharda Christmas 2010 at St Sebastian Church auditorium here on Sunday December 5.
Bishop of Mangalore Aloysius Paul D'Souza was the chief guest. In his Christmas greeting he said that Christmas with its universal message of love, peace and goodwill appeals to all, the young and the old, the rich and the poor to spread the human values by emphasizing the need for peaceful co-existence and harmonious living. He said Christmas is not only a festival of Christians, but of other castes, religions and creeds too.
More than a thousand people of different faiths participated in the programme, making it a memorable and unique experience. Christmas carols were sung by various musical groups. Youth choir ‘We Are the World' was sung by the students of Padua P U College.
Fr Premkumar Soans, treasurer, CSI, St Paul Church, Dr Hannibal Richard Cabral, secretary, KACES were present on the occasion.
The programme began with a prayer led by a student of Karnataka Theological College, Balmatta. Dr J B Saldanha, professor, St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu welcomed the gathering. Dr Fredrick Anilkumar, secretary, MCC delivered the vote of thanks.
Molly D’Souza Jeppu and Bindu Antony Jeppu compered the programme.
