Bantwal, Jan 9: A 37-year-old man died on the spot after a coconut tree fell on him in Naila of Shamboor village on Sunday, January 9.
The deceased is Yathiraj, son of the late Poovappa Poojary, Bettugadde, Naila. He used to take contracts for cutting trees.
Reportedly, the incident occurred while a localite was felling a coconut tree in his agricultural land. Unfortunately, Yathiraj who was passing by the way at that time came under the falling tree.
Though he was rushed to the government hospital in Bantwal, he was declared brought dead. Yathiraj had married only four months ago.
