Bantwal, Jan 25: "The tender assigned for the development of national highway 75 from Addahole and B C Road is progressing fast. The work will be completed by the year 2023. Special attention has also been given for the development of other highways in the district," said Dakshina Kannada MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He was speaking after scrutinizing the highway development works under way between B C Road and Kalladka on Monday January 24. He said that bridges will be constructed at Panemangalore and Uppinangady as part of the development works and a flyover will come up at Kalladka. He revealed that the progress of the works will be reviewed by holding meetings every 15 days. He stated that he is thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union minister for highways, Nitin Gadkari, and Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, for their cooperation.

"The road work between Bikkarnakatte and Sanoor has already undergone tender process. The work between B C Road and Punjalkatte is moving ahead briskly. Work between Punjalkatte and Charmadi will begin soon. I have also urged Gadkari to sanction a special grant for the development of Sakleshpur section of the highway," he explained. On the issue of the proposed closure of Shiradi Ghat road to facilitate road development works, he said that a final decision on this issue will be taken after the officials examine the alternative plans.

Minister S Angara, MLA Rajesh Naik Ulioppady, KEONICS chairman Harikrishna Bantwal, former legislators Padmanabha Kottary and Rukmaya Poojary, Bantwal Urban Development Authority chairman Devadas Shetty, Block BJP president Devappa Poojary, Deepak Kumar who represented KNR company and special land acquisition officer Manjunath, along with several others were present.

The total Road length is about 60 kms - Addahole -- BC ROAD -- Unfortunately as admitted will take 2 years -- provided all goes as per schedules- With all modern road construction equipments available -- every day it is possible to construct 2 kms --- or even 1 km of road -----it is clear -- there are very many other reasons---- for such delays--- 2 years target --

Roads development and upgrade of roads in and around Mangalore has happened at a Brisk pace only under BJP regime ..Especially Mr Nalin Kumar has contributed much in this .. He has a problem of Image .. During the congress the Toll plaza and the high way was awarded to filthy and low class companies such as IRCON . these days we see world class bridge(gurpur) which is built by a local company.

I donot want to say much. Just take PUMPWELL bridge and Nanthoor Cross. I live nearby Nanthur cross junction. No one needs to convince me how well the Roads have been maintained. One rain and we can bury an elephant in the pothole. Why take Party Name?

You are absolutely right, forget Gujarat, see the construction of roads happening in Tamil Nadu, we should be ashamed of electing useless MLA and MPs in Karnataka, both the ruling party and opposition are not interested in development of the state, they just want to come or be in power by hook or crook.

In UP, Gujarat Expressway construction happening at a massive pace. In Maharashtra also Nagpur_ Mumbai Expressway construction is in finishing stage. In Karnataka Road building happening in snails pace. Our elected representatives seems not much concerned, are not lobbying hard.
