Abu Dhabi: Tulu Koota's Maiden 'Benpinori Tinpinori' Show Wins Accolades

Abu Dhabi, Dec 18: Abu Dhabi Tulu Koota formed under the leadership of Sarvotham Shetty and with the support of like-minded committee members concluded their maiden presentation of Tulu drama ‘Benpinori Tinpinori’ at the auditorium of Abu Dhabi Indian School at around 4 pm on Friday December 17.
With the objective to promote Tulu culture, Abu Dhabi Tulu Koota hosted the second show of ‘Benpinori Tinpinori’ for the Abu Dhabi audience which was also supported by the Billawas Dubai who came in large numbers to witness the programme along with other groups from various Tulu speaking communities. More than 400 people gathered and enjoyed the show which was a mixture of laughter blended with sorrow and a message of goodwill to the community.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and sharing of the ‘pingara’ by all the guests of honour on the stage including Sudhir Kumar Shetty, CEO, UAE Exchange, Shekar Shetty, MD, Arab Udupi Group of Restaurants, Sunder Shetty, MD, Nihal & Tandoori Inn Restaurant, Ramesh Shetty, MD, Golden Crown Restaurant, Manohar Tonse, committee member, Abu Dhabi Tulu Koota, and many other dignitaries on the stage in pure traditional style.
Later all the sponsors were called upon on the stage and honored. Harish Sherigar, MD of Acme Building Materials Dubai, presented some melodious Kannada numbers which were heartily applauded by the audience. Guests from Dubai were introduced along with media representatives from various web sites and television.
The drama started at around 5 pm which was a socio-comedy play with meaningful dialogues and social message to the society in general. All the artistes perfomed well to the expectations of the audience who remained glued to the seats till the end of the show. The local talents did a marvelous job in presenting ‘Benpinori Tinpinori’ directed by the well-known Vishwanath Shetty who also acted in a character role in the drama.
Abu Dhabi Tulu Koota honoured all the artistes including the technical staff in music, lights, sounds, make up etc before the concluding speech by the director.
The comedy provided three hours of non-stop of entertainment.
