Karkala: Cattle thieves try to mow down cops, one arrested

Daijiworld Media Network – Karkala (DRD)

Karkala, Jan 30: Alleged cattle thieves tried to reportedly mow down policemen including a Karkala police station sub inspector on vigilance duty in Hepejaru of Mudoor village.

The incident occurred in the early hours when the police personnel led by sub inspector Tejaswi were checking vehicles passing by the area.

When they tried to stop a motorbike and a Maruti Ritz car, the drivers did not stop and instead tried to run over the police with their vehicles. The police reportedly had a narrow escape by leaping over to the road side.

Based on a complaint by sub inspector Tejaswi, motorbike rider Syed Juhad has been arrested. Search is on for the absconding car driver. Cattle theft has grown to menacing levels in the area, it is said.

Shortage of meat and unemployment led to open doors for crimes in youths but the reasons should not be justified for thier offence at any cost. On the other side although Goumathas getting killed in goshalas from hunger and lack of supervision but yet the ban on slaughtering still maintian which is simply illogic

We have lot many cattle protectors in D.K but they are unable to stop beef export. Stop your fake love for cattle's and act accordingly. If you love cows, then you must love bulls, buffaloes etc. Without them cows & She buffaloes can not produce milk.....!!!!!!?????

Police have to use guns when threatened, but not shoot to kill as you think. Weapons are for self defense. Let the Police shoot below the waist.

oh...as per your saying the police should not have shot two people in 2018 violence at state bank right? police know where to shoot..they cannot shoot the cattle thieves because they are hand in glove with them..these are all made up stories...just putting dust into the eyes of public..if there was honest attempt from DK police to catch cattle thieves the manace should have ended long ago..like how inspector AA KHan single handedly demolished bombay underworld...
