Had no expectations, it is a 'sab ka vinash' budget, says Siddaramaiah

Mysuru, Feb 2 (IANS): Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Union Budget, presented on Tuesday, has not given priority to any sector, not given solution to any of the problems, and is a 'sab ka vinash' budget.

Talking reporters at a jungle lodge where he is taking time off, he said that he had no expectations, as such, on the budget. "That's why I am not disappointed. But, women, farmers, and middle class people had expectations... now they are disappointed," he said.

He said that this year, a Rs 39.45 lakh crore budget has been presented, but no programme has been announced which could have given impetus to health, education, and agriculture sectors.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken Rs 93 lakh crore loans during his tenure. As much as Rs 9.40 lakh crore interest has to be paid on it. PM Modi has made this country debt-ridden," he claimed.

"PM Modi always raises the slogan of 'sab ka saath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas'. In my perspective, this is a 'sab ka vinash' budget. The project of linking of rivers is going to remain as just a slogan and announcement... it will not become a reality," he added.

Siddu ji,, We know you are not able to comprehend the ''budget'. All you understand is minority appeasement, falling at HDKs feet to save yourself, Being a peon of Mrs, HDK, running to a safe constituency after being booted out from your home constituency, self proclaiming yourself as a Lion or Huliya, to contest again. So Finance and budge is not your cup of tea.

Almost all oppostion party comments have been one sided with no suggestions to improve to modify the budgets.Suggestion can be given when the budget is discussed in Parliament. None of these politician have read the budget nor understood the budget. To fill the newspaper coloums and to keep themselves in news their first reactions is always to criticize the budget.

First you will have to find a 'safe ' constituency for Siddaramaiah, so he remains politically relevant. He can at least make some statements every now and then. Forget coming back to power. If its any party from the opposition, JDS has a better chance.

As an economics guy, I think it was a decent budget that will make the govt spend more from its tax collections and revenues leading to creation of employment and business opportunities. The downside is the lack of any perks for immediate revival of covid affected sectors.

I feel its better than budget for only one community/religion represented by so called ahinda leader from 2013-18.... Instead of spending money on education of that community spent money for something else so that they will get votes for life long... Happy to see even that community understanding the games played by so called leaders of that party.
