The lawyer said that the photo of a car provided as proof in the notice is of Suzuki make which does not belong to her. She also said that the registration numbers do not match. When she took up the matter with the officials, she was told to visit Mangaluru to give clarification. She lamented the fact that she is being compelled to visit Mangaluru and clarify for a mistake which she never committed in the first place.

This could be a case of fake number plate. Some thugs in Mangalore might be using her registration number... Illegal activities are carried out with fake/no number/"registered" numerplates.

These cops are only interested in making money. Recently I was caught by a traffic police at Kottara chowki, they were saying my number plate does not have the blue sticker and threatening to pay Rs. 500 as fine. I said is applicable only for those vehicles registered after 2017, for that he started arguing saying what do I know about the rules. I later called my friend and asked, they came to know about what I was trying to do. After the call i approached the cop in the car he said you can go, next time you change the number plate... They are looting poor people who are not aware of this.

How did the police send a notice to her address in Puttur if they did not get it from the vehicle registration details? Something does not quite add up.
