Feb 2: Dakshina Kannada reports 412 Covid cases, Udupi adds 542; 14 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 2: Dakshina Kannada on, February 2 reported 412 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 5.37%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 27,23,231 samples have been tested so far, out of which 25,89,960 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,33,271 out of which 3,100 are currently active.

As many as 839 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 128396.

The death in the district on Wednesday is 11. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,775.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,14,64,980 in fines for 94,814 mask violations.

Udupi

A total of 542 new cases were reported on Wednesday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 3,288. A total of 972 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday.

Udupi taluk reported 310 cases, Kundapura 119 and 110 cases in Karkala. 3 cases were reported from outside district.

    Free covid tests are available in many places in Mumbai . Our private hospitals in Mangaluru continue to exploit the public by charging exorbitantly!!!!! Government should step in to control them .
