Mangaluru: Youth who spread panic by wielding sword arrested

Mangaluru, Feb 3: One from among a group of youngsters who had given rise to tension by wielding swords near a private college near Ballalbagh in the city stands arrested. Barke police made this arrest on Wednesday February 2.

The arrested youth has been identified as Vishwanath (22), residing at Vivek Nagar near Ballalbagh here.

A heated argument had arisen between some youth and the students on Tuesday. Within a short while, two young men seated on a scooter had approached the college premises holding swords. Other students had captured the movement of these young men their mobile phones.

Later, Barke police visited the spot and registered a case. Based on the video footage, the accused has been arrested.

    we could see since many months in this area the students have become rowdy. They do not care for the police at ballalbagh. I think the police station SHO here is very weak. we might again see rowdies coming from this area.
