Feb 11: Dakshina Kannada reports 91 Covid cases, six deaths; Udupi adds 74 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 11: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, February 11, reported 91 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 74 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,34,842 out of which 962 are currently active.

As many as 266 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,819. Out of which nine deaths were reported on Friday.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,21,380 as fine in 95,376 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 74 new cases were reported on Friday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 859. A total of 209 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

Udupi taluk reported 45 cases, Kundapura 12 and 16 cases in Karkala. 1 case was reported from outside district.

A total of 10,38,995 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,04,732 have received both doses and 38,996 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
