Byndoor: One arrested for illegal cattle transportation

Byndoor, Feb 12: Relating to the illegal transportation of cattle in a goods vehicle, the policemen of Byndoor police station arrested a person on the evening of Thursday February 10. Another succeeded in escaping.

The locals who found the illegal cattle transportation at Arehole in Navunda village near here, had tipped the police about the same.

Accused Raveendra Poojary was found to be driving a Mahindra Maximo goods vehicle in which cows were being taken illegally. He confessed that in the morning, he had transported two cows from Halageri village and two more from Mullikatte village. He also revealed that he did this under the instructions of Navunda Jaleel.

The police have registered a case in Byndoor police station. They are investigating the matter. The police took up the case after information about illegal transportation was given to them by Sudhakar Shetty Nelyady, Vedanath Shetty, Dinesh Poojary and others.
