Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 12: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, February 12, reported 62 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 67 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,34,904 out of which 840 are currently active.

As many as 180 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,823. Out of which four deaths were reported on Saturday.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,25,080 as fine in 95,413 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 67 new cases were reported on Saturday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 765. A total of 161 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

Udupi taluk reported 43 cases, Kundapura 13 and 9 cases in Karkala. 2 cases were reported from outside district.

A total of 10,39,188 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,06,234 have received both doses and 39,539 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
