Feb 13: Dakshina Kannada reports 92 Covid cases, Udupi adds 54; four deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 13: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, February 13, reported 92 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 54 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,34,996 out of which 812 are currently active.

As many as 117 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,826. Out of which three deaths were reported on Sunday.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,28,680 as fine in 95,449 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 54 new cases were reported on Sunday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 744. A total of 74 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.

Udupi taluk reported 36 cases, Kundapura 7 and 11 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,39,189 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,06,240 have received both doses and 39,541 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
