Three Sabarimala pilgrims from Karnataka die in accident at Kozhikode

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 15: In a tragic incident, three persons died after a tempo traveller (TT) vehicle from Karnataka which was on a pilgrimage of Sabarimala, met with a ghastly accident.

The accident happened at Purakkattiri, Kozhikode in Kerala on the morning of Tuesday February 15.

Karnataka-origin devotees were travelling by this ill-fated vehicle which set off from Hassan.

Three died on the spot while 11 suffered injuries of varying degrees.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Shivanna and Nagaraj.

The accident took place when the TT and a tipper lorry collided near Puladikunnu bypass in Purakkattiri. The tipper driver is from Ernakulam.

The injured were admitted to a medical college hospital nearby.
