Mangaluru, Feb 15: St Peter City Deanery Mangaluru YCS(Young Christian Students) Unit celebrated the grand cultural fest Yuvathalenth 2022 at Bondelchurch premises on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
The programme began with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, director of YCS City Deanery and assisted by Fr Prakash Cutinho and Fr Rupesh Tauro. After the Eucharistic celebration cultural completions were held for the Deanery YCS members.
Altogether 10 parishes from the Deanery presented various social issues like mother’s love, the impact of media, love towards country etc. To inspire young students, Rayan Fernandes, an orthopaedic handicap was present who shared his personal experiences and advised young students to respect one’s life.
Fr James D'Souza vicar vara presided over the valedictory programme. Fr Rupesh Madtha, director YCS Mangalore Diocese was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes in addition to delivering an inspiring message. Several competitions were held and prizes were presented to the winners. Cordel Parish won the overall championship whileAngelore and Kelrai Parishes jointly shared the runner up trophy. Fr Prakash Cutinho, Fr Rupesh Tauro, Fr Alwyn D’Souza, Anil D’Sa and Deanery council members were present on the occasion. Various parish animators were present and they motivated the students.
