Karnataka reports 1,579 Covid cases, 23 deaths reported in last 24 hours

Bengaluru, Feb 17: Karnataka on Thursday, February 17 registered 1,579 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 19,761. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 769.

As many as 23 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Thursday, the death toll in the state has risen to 39,738.

The state recorded 5,079 discharges from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total discharges to 38,73,580.

So far, Karnataka has seen 39,33,115 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 1.74% while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.45 %.

As many as 9,92,39,195 people have received vaccination so far.

    Slowly after election rallies, they will increase the count and start adding restrictions. Why cant they insist for covid appropriate behavior ? We hardly find people using masks, sanitizing premises these days.
