Muscat: Ravindra Prabhu Concert ‘Sangeeta Lahari’ to be Held at Oman on Jan 21

Muscat, Jan 6: Ravindra Prabhu and Anita Sampson, a team of one of the most versatile singers from coastal Karnataka, who can belt out melodious songs irrespective of genre in various languages, are all set to perform at the Grand Hall of Al Falaj Hotel Oman, on Friday, January 21.
The show will comprise songs, scintillating filmy dances and the special attraction will be a short Yakshagana ballet so as to give a traditional blend to the show. Few of the highly talented local singers will also render their melodious voice to delight the music buffs.
The audience is assured of complete entertainment package when Ravindra Prabhu and Anita Sampson are on stage. They will be accompanied by a team of experienced musicians who have been playing for great playback singers like Dr S P Balasubramanyam, M D Pallavi, Guru Kiran and Puttur Narasimha Nayak to name a few.
Ravindra Prabhu, popularly known as the “Golden Voice” of coastal Karnataka, is a versatile singer, who waves his magical wand in any type of melody impeccably. He has stolen the hearts of not only coastal Kannadigas but also music lovers all over the world with his unique style and voice culture. Today, Ravindra Prabhu sings in all local languages. Although singing in Kannada is his specialty, he also sings in Hindi, Tulu, Konkani, Urdu, Beary and other languages with ease.
Prabhu displays a special ability in singing semi-classical songs as well as ghazals of eminent Hindi singers like Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Manna De and Kannada singers Dr S P Balasubrahmaniam Dr Rajkumar, Dr PB Shrinivas, C Ashwath and Puttur Narasimha Nayak in his very own inimitable style.
Prabhu has earned himself a name in the field of devotional music, and has penned lyrics, composed music and rendered his golden voice in several albums. His familiar voice in Kannada and Tulu movies seek no introduction.
In the last two decades, Prabhu has performed in over 5,000 cine, classical, devotional and light music stage shows. He has also presented and performed in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain and Kuwait.
The district administration has honoured Prabhu with the 'Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsav District Award'.
Ravindra Prabhu has a full time professional music troupe known as 'Rag Rang' in Mangalore which performs regularly at various places in city.
Prabhu has already released more than 15 audio/video CDs and cassettes rendering his voice to different type of music like bhajans, keertans, ghazals and filmy hits. He wrote the lyric and composed them.
Anitha Samson
She has a diploma and a degree in dance and music from Sandesha College of Fine Arts, Mangalore. She is also a playback singer for Konkani and Kannada movies. She has performed in over 2,000 live shows all over Karnataka, Mumbai, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Doha Qatar with leading singers and artistes. She has sung in over 200 devotional, filmy and drama audio and video albums comprising of Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Beary and Malayalam songs.
Bhasker Basrur
He is a well known key-board player and music composer. He has composed more
than 1,000 songs for various albums in Kannada, Konkani, Tulu and Beary languages. Bhasker is highly experienced with a span of 25 years in various types of music. He has travelled all over India and most of the gulf countries for music concerts.
Rajesh Bhagavath
Rajesh is a highly talented and a famous Tabla player of the state. He is a regular
Tabla player for various television reality shows online and offline in Zee Kannada, Suvarna TV, Kasthuri TV and Chandana TV. He has played Tabla for Dr SP Balasubramanyam, Guru Kiran, MD Pallavi and Puttur Narasimha Nayak among many other renowned artists in various reality shows. He has ten years of experience in playing Tabla and rhythm programming. Rajesh has also played Tabla for various music albums.
Vamana Kanjaru
He is a very popular and a renowned rhythm pad player and rhythm composer of South Kanara. He has played for more than 200 TV channel shows in Bangalore and Mangalore for various famous singers and cine artists. Vamana has 10 years of experience in rhythm programming and rhythm composing.
Vijay Kumar
He is a multi-talented guitar player from South Kanara who is gaining popularity in the coastal Karnataka. He has played guitar for many albums and various Kannada and Tulu dramas including orchestras.
Spandana, a group of ardent music lovers, will be organizing the power packed musical show “Sangeeta Lahari” in association with Al Falaj Hotel, offering a bouquet of melodious songs from yesteryears and also some latest foot tapping numbers in Hindi, Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Kodava and Beary languages. The combination is believed to be one of a kind and is being presented for the first time in Muscat.
