God love the victim and provide strength to the one's she left behind. I watched the video on the news channel and it is really horrifying and it should not have The vehicle is a weapon that is capable of killing and everyone driving one should know this and treat it as one. Hopefully the law will pass the right judgement and the suspect will get his tuppence. Having read the comments, there are a lot of negatives about the law, police and also people owning the cars and political parties. But no one has come with a 'solution' as to how to overcome this. India may have got the Independence from the British in 1947, but we seem still to be in that time and have not moved forward. We blame, we complain, we whinge, and then we all go home and sleep. The problem is still there. There are people who seem to reside abroad and are all happy to 'comment' even saying 'kill the suspect' which is sad to read. Yes there is a suspect who has committed this heinous crime and hope the law comes down on him and justice is provided to the victims family. We need to learn from this and steps needs to be taken to prevent future accidents. Taking someone's license will not stop them from getting drunk and going behind a wheel of a car. I agree a lot needs to change and like charity begins at home we all should look and make sure the message comes from us to our children and we start respecting the law of the land. Till we collectively come together and start 'following the rules' and police ourselves by consent, there won't be a change. I like to conclude by saying, my thoughts are with the family of the victim, and may the good lord give you strength in these dark times, and it was very noble of you to donate the organs.

innocent, precious life lost because of some drug addict, whose parents never teached him true values. May her soul rest in peace. Our rotten legal system will grant bail to the murderer & he will be scot free to kill some more innocent people.

It is really sad that she had to depart at a young age for no fault of her’s. Condolences to the family and friends of the decased. While blaming the driver, Government, Infrastructure etc. let us also introspect as to how much we are contributing to the rot in the system. I think we are the only country where Government has to insist us for wearing helmets / seat belts, which is a matter of personal safety. And for that also we will blame the Government stating that they are receiving kickbacks from helmet / seat belt manufacturers. How many of us value time and get for our work in time or little ahead of time and drive slowly and reach the destination. To get a Driving Licence, we will pay a bribe. As pedestrians, we will not look for Zebra crossings or wait for Green lights, we will just cross, based on our gut feelings, even if vehicles are coming. Bus Stops are always at wrong places, it will be always (exceptions are there like Chilimbi) at a junction or at a crossroad, which will create blockade forcing the other vehicles to run faster to make up the lost time. Our licenses do not get cancelled, even if we are the reasons for many an accident. So let us correct ourselves first, which will contribute at least in a small way in cleaning up this rot.

Very sad, woman, for no fault of her, had the tragic end. The way people drive, ride really scary. There is absolutely no courtesy towards other computers. Some drivers have become Pilots without a plane. No signal, no indicators, they just take off or park any where and every where. Especially in Falnir area nobody follow any traffic rules. Funniest thing is they break the rules and you are the culprit

A peanut sized coastal Mangalore has become a pain in the butt for all the wrong reasons. A bustling never sleeping Bombay metropolis is a zillion times better. The problem is Mangalore has too many "stinking rich" locales who adopt a care-a-damn-attitude and don't have ethics or civic sense. This guy should be made to pay blood money in crores and crores or he should be made to rot in jail till the end of his life. One of the main reason is our laws are lackadaisical and frail.

peanut sized coastal is 2nd highest tax generating region to state of Karnataka and a Port city. Why do u relate a region to a mistake committed by a single person???.....Even Salman bhai of Mumbai did same accident several years ago..and killed not one person but many!!...and case is closed....

Reckless driving is one thing but also infrastructure in Mangalore is so pathetic.. where do we have traffic signals? Lanes for cycle/motor, car and bus? All go on one road like sheeps .. vehicles are parked in middle of the road, potholes everywhere, narrow roads, lack of planning, overspeeding vehicles, drunk drivers list goes on n on... Also there is no traffic light intersection then forget how can we expect signals in divider?

given excellent infrastructure, do you expect such arrogant, unethical, ruthless drivers to follow traffic rules? An innocent life is lost for no fault of the victim.

I am so sorry to hear the news of the innocent's death. The person who was following the traffic rules was murdered for no mistake of hers. This case must not be considered as an accident. It is a murder and the murderer must be punished. Justice must prevail. I hope the deceased family member will get justice as soon as possible. The person who committed the crime must be punished because of his careless behaviour. He must be punished, so that it will be a lesson for others.

What is happening around in Manglore ?? The bus drivers also drive like they own the road and have a race and put other peoples life in danger ..... The Law and the Police have no better work ...No justice will be given Indian Law and Police system is corrupt...No rules and regulations no strict actions ...Because of this everyone takes it for granted ....Cops stand and do checking but the moment we slip in some money they let us go . This is the fate .

rather than encountering...the nationalist offender should be made to sit on a scooter at the same spot he hit the innocent woman...a car at high speed should be made to come from the same way like he drove and jump it over divider and hit him at full speed..that will be tit for tat...but andh bhakts will not agree as offender is from majority

Kujuma Kodial, that again makes one more punishable act.Instead the licence of the man should be cancelled and not given for next 10 years atleast ,punishment for life long, make him pay blood money to the dead person.Hard to know what happened .One never know when you leave the house whether you will come back safe home or not.Heartfelt sympathy to the family of deceased. It is noble act to donate her valueable organs to donate and let another live in her name.May her soul rest in peace.

still people are driving speed and carelessly , there is no proper police squad to cath them , police are only catching helmet less riders, who ever cross the speed limit must put heavy fine and jail term.
