June 16: DK reports six Covid cases, Udupi adds five infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 16: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, Jun 16, reported six new coronavirus case while Udupi registered five cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,682 out of which 41 are currently active.

The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Five corona cases were reported on Jun 16, the total active Covid cases are 10.

A total of 10,87,138 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,72,999 have received both doses and 82,1444 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported 4 cases, Kundapura 1 and 0 case in Karkala.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
