June 20: DK reports five Covid cases, Udupi adds two infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 20: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, June 20, reported five new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered four infections.

The total number of positive cases in the DK district has risen to 1,35,714 out of which 39 are currently active.

The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,851.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Four corona cases were reported on June 20, the total active Covid cases are 15.

A total of 10,87,346 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,73,651 have received both doses and 83,549 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported 2 cases, Kundapura and Karkala zero cases respectively.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
