Mangalore: Rising Mercury Gives Rise to Expectations of Rain

Mangalore, Mar 24: The maximum temperature of 38 degree Celsius was recorded in both Sullia and Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district. The city and the Bajpe registered maximum temperature level of 34 degree Celsius on Wednesday March 23. The minimum temperature all over the district hovered around 25 degree Celsius. This level of temperature was experienced last year only during April.
The rising temperatures and humidity levels have already been creating problems for the people in general, and the residents have been seen not choosing to move out during afternoons. In both Subrahmanya and Suillia, cloudy weather was experienced on Wednesday evening. The people hope that some rains will appear and relieve them of the scorching heat. However, hot climate normally follows rains.
Biligeri near Madikeri in Kodagu district received some rains on Wednesday. There are however, no reports of rains anywhere in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.
