Puttur: St Philomena PU College holds inauguration, blessing of new building blocks

Puttur, Aug 5: Inauguration and blessing of the renovated Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall, Shalom Priest House and Divya Chethana Chapel was held at St Philomena PU College, Puttur on August 2.

The bishop, Peter Paul Saldanha inaugurated the Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall, Shalom Priest House and Divya Chethana Chapel by cutting the ribbon. Prayer service was led by the Bishop along with other priests followed by the blessing of the hall.The donors for the renovation, Michael D'Souza and the trust members, Fr Wallerian, Steeven, Oswald Rodrigues, retired headmaster, St Philomena High School, Naseer were honoured by the bishop on the occasion. Rony ,the architect was also felicitated for his creative work.

Thanks giving Eucharistic celebration was held at the Chapel. The bishop was the main celebrant of the Holy Mass. He said in his sermon, "God is our Father. We all are His people. God provides all our needs,when we pray to him in faith".

The campus director, Fr Stany Pinto proposed vote of thanks. The correspondent, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, principal, St Philomena PU College, Dr Antony Prakash Montheiro, principal, St Philomena College, Fr Vijay Lobo, principal, Anugraha PU College and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
