Belthangady: Independence Day celebrated at Daya Special School

Beltangady, Aug 15: The 75th Indian Independence day was celebrated in Daya Special School of Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra (R) with the presence of Fr Jawahar Jery Cutinha, St Stephen’s church Esilkoy, Turkey. Fr Jawahar Jery Cutinha hoisted the national flag in front of the school premise. 

The children, parents, school teachers and the staffs were present during the ceremony. Thereafter the stage programme was organized by inaugurating the programme. Fr Jawahar Jery Cutinha wished the happiness of the 75th Indian Independence day to all the children, their parents and staffs. He said the children are shining today as morning stars and the organization had provided the plenty of opportunities to grow themselves and supported their parents to motivate their children towards learning and to build up their own talents and personality.

Prajwal Rego from St Milagrese Credit Co-operative Bank, Beltangady had handover the blankets and sweets to 110 differently able children through their bank and wished children all the success and assured their cooperation in the future and explained their good intension of supporting the children in need and he said the St Milagrese Credit Co-operative Bank has 111 branches in all over Karnataka and it also supporting the differently able children every year to take them to the main stream of the society.

Sabitha Monis, honourable guest, student welfare officer, Moodbidri congratulated the organization for their efforts in serving the most needy children of the society and asked children and their parents to utilize the opportunity to move forward in their life and to become good citizens of the society. Fr Rohan Lobo, assistant director of Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra explained about the main intention of the celebration of Independence Day to honour the people who fought for the nation and to handover the freedom to our future generation to enjoy the same to live happy life, irrespective of any cast and religion. Chaithra, president of Vimukti SHG Trust Beltangady and Sharanya, parent representative of Daya School were present on the stage.

Thereafter the children and staffs were performed the cultural activities. At the end Fr Jawahar Jery Cutinha and Ms. Sabitha Monis were honoured by the organization for their achievements. Sharmila facilitated the Ceremony and Jovita thanked the gathering. Lunch was provided to all the participants.
