Mangaluru: Much-awaited Tulu film 'Abatara' witnesses grand release

Mangaluru, Aug 18: Actor Arjun Kapikad's directorial debut 'Abatara' released here at Big Cinemas on ThursdayAugust 18.

Actor, director and screenplay writer Devadas Kapikad has written the story for the movie. Apart from directing, Arjun Kapikad plays the lead role in the movie.

Nikhil Keerthi Salian has produced the movie under the banner of Bolli Creations and Avika Productions.

The film is made as per the expectation of the audience. The film has been shot in Mangaluru and its surroundings. The movie will be released not only in the coastal areas, but abroad as well.

The movie released in 15 theatres including Bharath mall, PVR, Cinepolis, Udupi, Manipal, Karkala, Puttur and Sullia on Thursday. The movie will be later released in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kasargod, Mulleyeri, Sakleshpura, Shuntikoppa, Theerthahalli, Kundapura and Shivamogga.

The movie will have overseas release on September 2.

Arjun Kapikad, Gaana Bhat and Christina George are playing lead role in the movie. Actor Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Sai Krishna, Shanil Guru, Chethan Rai Mani, Lakshmish, Sunil Chitrapura are also playing prominent roles.

Former MLC Ivan D Souza, managing director of Bhandary Builders Lakshmish Bhandary, principal of SDM Law College Dr Devaraj, film producer Prakash Pandeshwar, corporator Kiran Kumar, CATCA president Mohan Koppal Kadri, film maker Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, actor Arjun Kapikad, actress Gaana Bhat, Christina George, Sai Krishna, Shanil Guru, producer Sharmila Kapikad, producer Nikhil Keerthi Salian, co-producer Veeraj Attavar, actor Avinash Shetty and others were present.
