Mangalore, Dec 10: Historic Sautramani Gavaamayana Yaga in the premises of Sri Jnanashakthi Subrahmanya Swami Temple, Pavanje in Haleangady aims to bring about unity among various sections of the society.
The main aim of the Yaga is to erase the differences existing between caste, creed and community from the minds of the people and to bind them in unity of love and concern towards each other.
Addressing press persons Gavaanayana Yaga Committee honorary president M N Rarajendra Kumar said that the cost estimated for the yaga is Rs 2 to 3 Crore . He also said that the yaga received a tremendous response from the public on the first day. free meals and cultural programme will be organised round the clock during this Yaga.
Yaga Shale has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30 lac and it will be provided for any religious purpose at free of cost in the future said Nalin Kumar Kateel. He also said that the steel plates utilized for the purpose of serving free meals will be distributed among the schools and ashramas after the yaga, he added.
