Mangaluru: Pilibail star Sonal steps into Sandalwood

Mangaluru, Feb 17: Coastalwood witnessed the birth of a new star in Sonal Monteiro through her tulu-film debut Ekka Saka. Pilibail Yamunakka, which cast Sonal has saw great success. The actor who is now getting established as an artiste in Coastalwood caught the attention of tulu audience with her role in Pilibail, is taking a step towards Sandalwood.

Her contribution as an actor now, extends to three films in Sandalwood. At present, Sonal is involved with the Kannada films 'Abhisarike' and 'Bhale Huccha'.

"As there are no offers in Tulu-movies at present, I am working with Kannada films. The three Kannada movies I'm working with will release this year. If I get a good script in Tulu, I am ready for the role," Sonal said.

Besides being an actor and model, Sonal is keen on social service. Sonal is involved with 'Women of Worth', an organisation that empowers women towards justice, equality and change. The organisation champions the cause of acid-attack victims, giving them a chance to walk the ramp. Sonal, being a part of the movement, emboldens the women to walk the ramp.
