Mumbai, Apr 19: Vidya Prasaraka Mandala, Mulund held their diamond jubilee celebrations on April 8. Sameer Somaiya, executive president of Godavari Biorefineries Limited and director of Vidya Prasarak managing committee inaugurated the diamond jubilee and founder's day celebrations. Chief honorary secretary Dr P M Kamath lit the lamp and paid respects to the guests.

Dr Kamath speaking on the occasion, said that he is very happy to be part of 60th year celebrations. He explained that the organization which had started in 1957 has grown, evolved, taken pains to transform humans, inculcating humanity, discipline, confidence, sincerity and other good qualities in them. “The power, status and wealth obtained by an illiterate remain only for a short while,” he said.

Retired judge Hosabettu Suresh presided over the programme.

Dr K Mohan, Mandala honorary secretary B H Katti, joint secretary Chitrakshi Shetty, assistant secretary Chitrakshi Shetty, treasurer N H Gudi, Mulund corporator Sardar Tara Singh, N G A Menon were on the dais.

Office bearers of the mandala, retired principals, principals, teachers, parents and students participated in the conference. The programme began with prayer by V P M national integration school students. Teachers Rashmi Tamane and S Vijayalaxmi introduced the guests and compered the programme. Treasurer, professor C J Pai proposed the vote of thanks. Students presented a cultural programme. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
