Panaji: Konkani author Vincy Quadros conferred Bal Sahitya Award

Panaji, Nov 17: Vincy Quadros, renowned Konkani author from Goa was conferred the Bal Sahitya Award 2017, for his children’s Konkani novel ‘JaduchemPettul’ recently.

The award ceremony took place at Makineni Basavapunnaiah Vignana Kendram’s Chukkapali Pitchaiah Auditorium, Vijaywada on November 14.

Sahitya Akademi (SA) president, Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, vice-president Chandrashekhar Kambar, secretary L Sreenivasarao and Bal Sahitya Awardees of all 24 languages were also present on the dais.

Horendra Nath Borthakur (Assamese), Sasthipada Chattopadhyay (Bengali), Renu Boro (Bodo), Sudesh Raj (Dogri), Paro Anand (English), Harish Naik (Gujarati), Swayam Prakash (Hindi), N.S. Lakshminarayana Bhatta (Kannada), Showkat Ansari (Kashmiri), Vincy Quadros (Konkani), Amlendu Shekhar Pathak (Maithili), S. R. Lal (Malayalam), Warepam Jigindro Singh (Manipuri), Laxman Mahipati Kadu (Marathi), Shanti Chhetri (Nepali), Subhendra Mohan Srichandran Singh (Odia), Satpal Bhikhi (Punjabi), Pawan Paharia (Rajasthani), Rajkumar Mishra (Sanskrit), Joba Murmu (Santaili), Roshan Lakhmichand Golani (Sindhi), Velu Saravanan (Tamil), Vasala Narasaiah (Telugu) and Nazeer Fatehpuri (Urdu), all these authors were presented with Bal Sahitya Award 2017 along with a cheque of Rs 50,000 at the hands of SA President Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari.
