Mangaluru, Sep 6: The students of Mount Carmel Central School (MCCS), Mary Hill, expressed their love and gratitude to their ‘Teachers’ by organising Teachers’ Day filled with tributes, prayers, songs, dance and skit.
The celebrations began with a prayer service. The thoughtful and respectable Teachers’ Day celebrations reflected the fact that the students cared for their beloved teachers. The PPT was done in a unique way by contacting the ex students and recording their tribute and wishes to their teachers of Mount Carmel. Group games for the staff were conducted and prizes were awarded to the winners. In response, appreciating the efforts put up by the students in organizing the event, Sr Melissa AC, the principal said, "A teacher is someone who is the mentor of your life. They are not only the selfless givers but also who touch your hearts for a better life”.
Head girl Larrel Coutinho of Class X and Amanda Frank of Class XII compered the programme while Shreya welcomed the gathering and head boy Mahindra rendered the vote of thanks.
The formal function ended with teachers joining the ‘Baila Dance’ with their students. The head girl and the head boy and the cabinet leaders were able to put up a great show for their beloved teachers because of their timely planning and team work. Teachers on their part felt that they need to inspire and be inspired and to garner with gratitude.
To teachers with love with a difference - from the parents
The members of PTEC met together to mark the Teachers’ Day celebrations on behalf of the Parent Teacher Association of MCCS. Kishan Bangera who compeered the programme stole the show with his witty punch lines and kept the audience lively. Ryan Lobo, vice-president of PTA along with his team did put up a remarkable show, and entertained the teachers in appreciation and gratitude for the loving care bestowed on their children. Gloria Veigas and team conducted various games for the staff.
The highlight of the programme was the felicitation of the support staff for their cheerful and dedicated service to the institution. It was a wonderful move on the part of the PTEC to appreciate them in their own languages with a memento. The dance of PTEC members was superb with rhythmic move which made the entire staff to join them. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the various games. The celebration ended with a sumptuous lunch arranged by the PTA members. Nisha Albuquerque, joint secretary of PTA rendered the vote of thanks. The entire day’s programme was graceful, relaxing, witty, humorous and well timed.
