The Dreadful Dawn - Dusk of Many Lives

June 3, 2011

‘Twas the dawn of the 22nd of May
I remember it was a terrible day!
It was 6 o’clock on that cool summer morning
It was foggy and drizzling
Some of you may have been awake, some sleeping.

From Dubai to Mangalore, the Air India Express
Brought with it a lot of sorrow and distress
The mighty bird came speeding down the skies of Mangalore
And the people in it, knew not what’s in store.

Happily waiting for the aircraft to land
That they could meet their loved ones and shake their hand.
But the plane landed, half past the runway
And it never went to the parking bay!

The airplane went sliding down the ravines
The most tragic accident I’ve ever seen
And before it burst into flames, it broke in two
158 died, it’s so sad but it’s true!

Why did it have to happen?
Why did it all have to end?
Someone might have lost a loved one
Some other may have lost a dear friend.
Tears may have filled your eyes
When you heard their wailing and their cries.
But now they’ve all died and they’ve gone away
Let us remember them when we pray today.

Lord, grant those departed souls
Your eternal peace and your undying love.
Let perpetual light shine upon them all
And send us your blessings from above.

    Dear all,
once again we all talk and sing like politicians...what is required at this hour is not the poems, articles and speaches....if possible to get what legitimately and legally to those families who lost dear and near ones, and especially those who survived and few are day and night looking for settling in life with good jobs...if some one and again some good organizations come forward...it will be a great job. The memories, anniversary masses, poojas, are all conducted by those respective groups...let us not to try to pour oil on fire...day by day...
