A Common Love Story...

July 16, 2012

(Sequel to the earlier story 'When Boy Meets Girl...'

Girl and Guy madly in love

Girl and guy roam all around the city hand in hand. Girl lies about the special classes to meet the guy. They run when the watchman guarding the park chases them with his stick. They fail to understand that the lawn they were spoiling is expensive. They visit isolated places like jungle where they can sit and be naughty. They run when the owner of the place chases them with his air gun. Girl adores the guy, thinks he is the one for her. She doesn’t utter a word when the guy’s hand on her body finds its own way to reach its goal. She think after all he is the one whom she is gonna marry

Guy says "I need space"

Guy finds better girl than the current one. Guy says "Baby, I feel we are becoming too …(he tries to say a word which is suitable for the situation. He gives up his and wait) Actually I need some space."

Girl says "What!!! Are you breaking up with me? Tell me darling what wrong did I do?"

When guy doesn’t move an inch she throws her shawl aside and cries out, "You found somebody else. Tell me she is hotter than me?"

Guy is speechless. He wonders how women are so smart. He doesn’t even bother to justify. He simply says "C'mon now, don’t be so naïve. I need some space and all I am asking is a bit of time". (He knows that the girl can’t afford his so called "bit of time").

Finally, when girls comes to know that she doesn’t even have a chance she picks up her bag, shawl, wipes her tears, applies a coat of lipstick, combs her hair then looks straight into the guy's eyes. Just when guy thinks 'she is gonna x-Ray my whole body'... PHAT... her hand on his cheek gets him back to the reality.

"Jerk, you will rot in hell with that %$%$".

Guy thinks, "It was easier than I anticipated... only slap was unexpected." He whistles thinking about his new girlfriend, and with a smile he starts his bike.

Girl sees the guy with his new girl

Girl sees the guy with his new girlfriend in the mall. She boils with anger when they roam around hand in hand. She stands there watching the guy with his new butterfly while her mind recoils all types of bad words. As the guy disappears girl cools down and says "b$$%# will rot in hell!"

Girl gets married

Girl invites guy’s friends for her wedding. She clicks group photo with them and introduces them to her hubby. When the guy comes to know about it he chuckles and says, "She still loves me". But his inner voice says, "She doesn’t give you a damn."

Girl meets the guy

While shopping in the supermarket guy meets the girl. Guy smiles at her and she stares at him. When her hubby asks, "Who is that guy smiling at you? " girl says, "He is a jerk. I am going home, are you coming or not?". Girl thinks, "New girl must have dumped him that’s why he is alone".

Girl prepares sweets at night. Husband asks, "Why sweets darling? Anything  special?" Girl says, "I am happy, feel like celebrating."

Guy gets married

Guy marries the girl of his mother's choice. He sits and thinks about his past. When he realizes he made many a heart weep he says to himself, "I was a real jerk". His wife asks, "Did you say something?". The guy says "Nothing, it’s too late, go to bed".

I read the story but what does Sylvia want to tell the reader?
Time is changing and even customs and values.
Globalisation has changed so much within a short time.
Physical contact between young females and males were unthinkable in conservative societies but that has changed. One only need to read the English media published in India´s mega cities.
One cannot stop that trend but what parents should try is to give their children a meaning of life, self confidence and a feeling to look after the needy and poor.
Traditions and norms are very important but we shall be open minded for new developments and we should respect and tolerate the life style of the young generation.
But more important is to understand young people, their dreams, hopes and wishes and to support them and sometimes even we can be an example for them.
Even in India the trend cannot be stopped in the future that young people fall in love and choose their partner by their own.
It will take much time to accept that love marriages will increase in India and play an important role beside arranged marriages.
Why not? As long as young married couples are happy and build up a successful life and offer their children a wonderful childhood and give them confidence, love, dignity, joy, values and a meaning of life.
And one must accept that young people make their own experiences before marriage. That is life.

    Best regards

    @Roshan
Ever know how a 'share broker' operates? By giving free 'tips!
Doesn't use his 'brains' or money but uses 'others' to rake it in
for himself! A critic comes somewhere near. Lazes off on 'somebody else's work'.. How can he ever be original? One who does not sweat , but comments on other's toil, ask me it's worse than 'kiddo -adult' stuff.

Nice article. Common love story with an unusual end , wonder why guy went for arranged marriage!. He must have had options in his kitty. Younger , better and smarter!. @ r bandarkar , i feel criticizing is tougher than patronizing others and bit original too. Hell of a work , have to read full article , u know! . And also its not 'kiddo adult' job either.

It's the public secret expressed in simple words. The article seems so real. This is the happening story (reality). Both (girls and boys) fall prey, while some ends sad and some good. Nice to read, keep writing.

    Dear Sylvia
At the outset, let me congratulate you on your 'conceptualisations'. I know how difficult it is to be
a writer. To put your thoughts on paper is not an easy task. For your age (as deduced from your photo!)you are doing beautifully, all sequels included!
    Commenting or criticising is the
'easiest' thing in the world. Being 'original' is difficult. My look-out is for 'humour'in each and every angle, for it adds 'spice'to life! The intention is never ever to hurt and certainly not for a beautiful kid like you.Hope, I'm clear!

The less one writes about boy and girl, love and romance is better, because none of that stuff is real. Just imagination and dreams
