How to Assess One's Maturity?

March 22, 2021

Age is not the only factor that counts to assess one's maturity, it's also built by experience.

When we think about maturity, automatically we connect this to the age factor. Generally, people believe that Maturity comes with age. I agree with this but every time it need not be the case. There are many factors which contribute to people's maturity.

I believe that maturity also comes with experiences, hardships that we face in our lives. A Child who faces hardship in his childhood days, is much mature than the normal children of the same age group who lead a satisfied life (furnished with the facilities). For instance, the children who are born in poverty, are matured at the early stage in comparison with the children who are born in a middle class or high class, the reason is very simple, poor children face lots of hardship to even have a full course meal twice a day, they know the value of food, money at a small age, and we rarely find this maturity of valuing things in rich class children as they take everything for granted because they are unaware of how they are provided what they want even before demanding. They are not exposed to starvation, poverty, and struggles as poor children.

Upbringing of children is another factor which contribute to maturity. For instance, if a child is taught to value each and everything that the child possesses, and tells how they got such a good life i.e if they are made aware of difficulties to earn a penny, a kind of maturity comes in the child to value it and be thankful to that. In some cases we come across some children who show so much attitude and ego and show off their richness to others, this is how maturity differs from children to children and person to person.

Age may be one factor to measure maturity, I don't deny that. But every time it's not the age that alone determines one's maturity level. The above factors also define the maturity level.

Maturity is most important which each one should possess. Without maturity there will be no seriousness and will not value the things in life. So maturity is most significant part of each one’s life. Youths should have sense of maturity in life otherwise they just spoil their life. In youth stage we take many significant decisions in our life and those decisions decide our future. If one is immature then his decision can affect his and his family's life. So Parents take all major decisions for children.

After one stage in life everyone gains maturity but there are few who are matured even before. These few people can do wonders with their early maturity. Maturity also brings humbleness which is most required at present. Behaviour of a person is most significant and that's decided by one's maturity to handle the situations of life.

Thus maturity plays a most significant impact in our life. Maturity helps to lead life in a beautiful way.

Dear ,you have written a article shows that itself you are matured .What is maturity?Difficult to define.Maturity shows how one talks to you, acts when you are with a strange person, with decisions in life .Many children show it even in their small age.Mostly elder child will be more mature than the following one. Many children /person decide to lead ,manage ,in younger age .There are leaders ,some of them know how to lead the Nation, which decision should be taken to bring up the Nation.some others become leaders only by fake vote or money lead the Nation to downstairs That shows the maturity. Our brain cells are maturing day by day from birth,But there children who you see very mature ,learn ,talk ,and even before their said age.It is called early maturity .Try to be normal and we enjoyed your article which really exists of a mature girl.Try to write more ,and your maturity will help you to be a good writer.

Great article Ms Divya. I agree. Maturity does not grow in proportion to a person's age. If that was the case, no person above the age of 20 would throw rubbish anywhere and everywhere. Indeed, an adult would not commit crimes! I was hoping the article contained a way to measure one's maturity. Regardless, great job with the article.
