The room was filled with teary eyes. One could see it coming miles away. It's not always easy to say it, especially not when you've spent two years together. The times have really flown. Everyday shorter than the one before.
Down the memory lane and the students remembered their first day at college. A new beginning; a new place; new people; and inevitably, new teachers; A loud bell echoed across the building signalling the commencing of class
A tall figure walked into the class. An air of authority. 'Good morning class, I am your class guide and woe betide to anyone who gets on my wrong side' What an introduction!! The class is silent; A few scared out of their wits. But it wasn't long before they found out what actually was at store for them. She was around when everyone had given up. She was always present to lend a listening ear. She was around when one needed to laugh, to cry.
The lessons she taught was beyond the books. A lesson of becoming a better version of yourself, a person filled with kindness and empathy. She was there at all times, especially during the hard examination month when the pressure shoots to the roof. She was the guiding light through out the journey.
Now however, it was time to say goodbye. It was the end of her tenure at the college. The smiles and laughter would suddenly sound strange. Nobody had ever won the hearts of the students as much as she had. Her hands filled with flowers and farewell cards with wishes and love from her students. The farewell was all done and it was time to go and she left with a sweet little smile.
All it takes is a little kindness towards the students entrusted to the teachers. Time spent fruitfully amongst them would mean a better idea of the world to face. Any teacher can teach but only few can make a person understand. It's sad that no one understands the plight of a teacher.
