The festival of Christmas rings joy abound in the world and illuminates the homes as well as the city and its skies. Amidst the commercial flooding and the fun and folic that the season brings us, we forget the message of the birth of Jesus in a forlorn manger abandoned and homeless. It is a festival that unifies every home, every parish, every town and of course every hearts. This festival season transcends every boundaries as it shuns negativity and opens up humanity with togetherness. Christmas binds people and really ought to be a synthesis of religiosity, spirituality and the values that Christ bought to mankind. It must e a time to illuminate the heart with love as we illuminate our homes and streets and neighbourhood. Christmas must fill every mind and heart with joy and gaiety. It must foster peace, harmony and contribute to strengthen human bonds. In short, Christmas is the awareness of the inner light, the celebration of the awakening of human consciousness that should illuminate the darkness in our heart and obstacles that are there between men. Otherwise, the festival will be merely a day of enjoyment with lots of commercial value but no transformation of the mind and heart.

When we celebrate Christmas it should instil in us a sense of devotion and eternal bliss. It must be an advent of hope, peace, joy and love. Symbolically speaking Christmas always stood for homecoming. Parents who work aboard come home for Christmas, so do children who come home from hostels to celebrate Christmas.

In the night that the Lord choose to be among men is for us to come home to celebrate. There is laughter, sharing of experience and eating the est of foods. The Christmas season is one of sharing and caring. It spread cheer among family members, friends and neighbours. The understanding of Christmas is on the premise that we all belong to each other. But when we see the happenings around us, the joys of Christmas vanishes. Look at what is happening in the Holy Land of Israel, there is destruction of the human consciousness, there is uncertainty, and there is raging hatred.

Our lives and relationship they say is always like water. It does not have a shape or colour. It takes the shape or colour of its container but it always held an enigmatic charm irrespective of its form. When we look at the lakes, it does have a glassy surface, the rivers have a serene rhythmic sound of a lullaby and the seashore is always vibrant and when we look at the sea there is awe and admiration. Water like love is intriguing in themselves.

When we look at the birth of the Saviour, we wonder whether we have forgotten God’s love for us or attempt to put a price and commercialise everything. This has resulted in the vanishing of the joy of Christmas. The festival reminds us and makes us realise that one of us is unique like a flower, unique in looks and fragrance, coming to gather in unison makes us a bouquet of humanity, we need to be bound together in a continuous quest for the truth that God so loved the world that he gave his begotten son to live in our midst. The philosophical truth that binds people is the synthesis of love compassion and a sense of oneness. The divine light shins in our midst, it burns with love for all of us. Let Christmas bring joy and happiness that offers the unique beauty and love that unites us with true, love, provides an environment where we can immerse ourselves in God’s compassion, create lasting memories with our loved ones and take sanctuary in divine providence otherwise as Angelus Silesius put it “If Christ were born in Bethlehem a thousand times and not in thee thyself, thou art lost eternally”. Let us remember that the Christmas season is one of caring and sharing to make the birth of Christ our saviour meaningful.

Pictures relevant to the article may also be sent (optional), provided they are not bound by copyright. Travelogues should be sent along with relevant pictures not sourced from the Internet. Travelogues without relevant pictures will be rejected.
  • In case of a short story / article, the write-up should be at least one-and-a-half pages in word document in Times New Roman font 12 (or, about 700-800 words). Contributors are requested to keep their write-ups limited to a maximum of four pages. Longer write-ups may be sent in parts to publish in installments. Each installment should be sent within a week of the previous installment. A single poem sent for publication should be at least 3/4th of a page in length. Multiple short poems may be submitted for single publication.
  • All submissions should be in Microsoft Word format or text file. Pictures should not be larger than 1000 pixels in width, and of good resolution. Pictures should be attached separately in the mail and may be numbered if the author wants them to be placed in order.
  • Submission of the article / poem / short story does not automatically entail that it would be published. Daijiworld editors will examine each submission and decide on its acceptance/rejection purely based on merit.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to edit the submission if necessary for grammar and spelling, without compromising on the author's tone and message.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to reject submissions without prior notice. Mails/calls on the status of the submission will not be entertained. Contributors are requested to be patient.
  • The article / poem / short story should not be targeted directly or indirectly at any individual/group/community. Daijiworld will not assume responsibility for factual errors in the submission.
  • Once accepted, the article / poem / short story will be published as and when we have space. Publication may take up to four weeks from the date of submission of the write-up, depending on the number of submissions we receive. No author will be published twice in succession or twice within a fortnight.
  • Time-bound articles (example, on Mother's Day) should be sent at least a week in advance. Please specify the occasion as well as the date on which you would like it published while sending the write-up.
