A Love Letter to Wife

December 29, 2024

Laughing waves of the sea,

smiling stars in glee,

dancing breeze stopped to flee.

Sun and Moon dressed up well to see.

To sprinkle pearls, clouds have agreed.

As I thankfully celebrate my love, the universe sings with me.

After years of living together, it's time for me to write a love letter to my wife. The attention-draining competing tasks in this busy world have led to the denial of celebrating love and honoring our life partners through words of love. Years have passed since I first met you, and who knew at that time that our budding love would prove to be the ultimate jackpot. The changing seasons of our growth and distant places of our stay couldn't weaken the strength of tender bonds.

The melting ice-cream, splashing vapors from the sea waves, drops of sweat from days of sun, soaking breeze of rainy days, whispers of late evenings, inhaled fragrance of our bodies, and tight grips of hands made our lonely steps to walk closer. Glittering gifts, essays of love, and romantic words added magic to our budding emotions. The relationship reached its heights as we shared it through listening ears, resting shoulders, reassuring touch, thoughtful minds, beating hearts of love, sparks of kisses, and warmth of hugs. Countless small talks, mindful moments, gestures of affection, fun play, gratitude in whatever we say, actions of a helpful way, forgiveness, and showing support and connection each day became the velcro of our love. The eyes of envy got exhausted seeing us.

Moving from our homes and building our new home was easy with your constant and unconditional friendship. Intelligent thinking transcended limitations and led to the evolution of our love language. Thanks to nature's gift of human connections, the power of divine intervention, and the laws of romance, and most importantly, our determined hearts and wise minds ensured that we kept up the promises of love. Much oozing positivity masked few negative events. Kindness, empathy, and compassion never went out of our home. With the bricks of dreams, the castle of reality was built. No blame game, no name game, opened up the path to fearless freedom in relationship. Our emotional investment, commitment and care are the strength and security of our marriage. The garden of love turned beautiful with the abundance of words of appreciation, admiration, and encouragement. My brain has a brilliant depiction of you in its billion neurons.

An unknown woman became well known,

Felt like she was my own,

With her friendship, I never felt alone,

I'm glad, she is with me for lifelong.

Trustworthy emotions, respectful communication, heartfelt concern, and willingness to go the extra mile to make our partner smile became the pillars of our eternal friendship. The journey of life is funny, exciting, satisfying, meaningful, and hopeful because you came into my life and helped me create the rainbow of my dreams. My poetic writing concludes with a profound sense of gratitude towards you, and my universe of love for you constantly expands.

Love letters are written everyday till the end of life!!!!!!!!..................We started 55 years back and still write............. Now it is pillow talk every night................. sometimes 10 minutes and sometimes 1 to two hours........ As Fr. Aloysius Pereira (he was our marriage counsellor and officiating priest) told us "leave everything out the bedroom door, all disagreements, all quarrels, all worries to tomorrow and make the night yours and just yours". And it is still ours.......
