Mangalore, Apr 25: The Prathista Brahmakalashotsava and Astapavithra Nagamandalotsava with religious, cultural programmes at Guruvana Shree Durga Kshetra in Kadekar Shree Mallikarjuna Temple premises, Jeppina Mogaru will be held from May 8 to 18, informed J Krishna Palemar, honorary president of Brahmakalashotsava committee at a press meet here on Monday April 25.
Brahmakalashabhisheka will be organized under the Vedic guidance of Brahmashree Vedamurthy Ucchilatthaya Padmanabha Tantri on May 16 and Asta Pavithra Nagamandalotsava will be organized under the Vedic guidance of Sagri Sri Gopalakrishna Samaga on May 18.
‘Ugrana Muhurtham’ will be performed by Sri Sri Narendranath Yogishwareshwara Swamiji and Shakuntala Narendranath on May 6 at 9.30 am. On May 7 at 3.30 pm, ‘Hore Kanike’ procession will be carried out from Pump Well Circle and will pass through Suratkal, Madyar, Thokkottu to reach the Shree Kshetra at 6 pm. On May 8, Yakshagana will be performed by famous artiste from 8 pm to 10 pm.
The religious meet on May 11 will be inaugurated by Jagadeesh Shettar at 6 pm. ‘Pushkarani’ will be inaugurated by union law minister Veerappa Moily. Sri Sri Narendranath Yogeeshwara Swamiji, Shree Guru Parashakti Mutt, Marakada will bless the occasion. N Yogish Bhat, deputy speaker, will preside over the programme. Bharathanatya performance by Vani Rajgopal and troupe will be held from 8 pm to 10 pm.
On May 12 after the religious meet at 6 pm till 8 pm, cultural programmes will be held from 8 pm to 10 pm. Bhargavi dance troupe, Udupi will present dance programme.
On May 13, ‘Prathiste’ of deities will be held. Saints will be welcomed through a grand procession to Shree Kshetra at 3 pm. At the ‘Santha Sangama’ from 4 pm to 8 pm, Shree Vishweshatheertha Swamiji will preside. On May 14, after the religious meet at 6 pm, Suramani Shree Praveen Godkindi and troupe, Bangalore will perform fusion music from 8 pm to 10 pm. On May 15, the religious meet will be presided over by Vidwan Panja K Bhasker Bhat.
On May 18, CM B S Yeddyurappa will preside over the religious meet from 6 pm to 8 pm. Rajashree Padmabhushan Dr D Veerendra Heggade will bless. C C Patil, Dr M Mohan Alva, Sandya S Pai, A P Shreevastav will be the chief guests. On May 21, ‘Nemotsava’ of Shree Sathyadevathe, Kalkuda, Panjurli and Guliga deities will be performed from 10 pm.
Krishna J Palemar, Yogish Kumar Jeppu, president of Brahmakalashotsava committee, K C Naik among others were present at the press meet.
