Bangalore, Apr 26: Karnataka State Examination Authority (KSEA) has made elaborate arrangements for holding common entrance test (CET) on Wednesday April 27, and the next day. 1,16,967 students have registered themselves for the test, which enables them to get entry into engineering and medical courses.

The test is being held simultaneously in 235 centres spread out in various regions like Bangalore (58), Mangalore (12), Shimoga (9), Belgaum (14), Udupi (8), Mysore (12), Hassan (5), Dharwad (10), Bidar (12), Davangere (10), Chikballapur (5), Gulbarga (11), Bellary (7), Bijapur (6), Chitradurga (4), Chikmagalur (3), Mandya (8), and Bagalkot (6).

Special vigilance squads headed by respective district deputy commissioners have been formed to prevent malpractices. In addition, work forces formed by the authority will also be functioning in all the regions. Police patrolling has been arranged around all the examination centres.

The hall tickets and addresses of students have already been sent to respective colleges, and a provision to download the tickets from the website, http://kea.kar.nic.in, has also been made. To receive and address grievances relating to the examination, a helpline with telephone number 080 23460554 has been opened, said executive director of the authority, S P Kulkarni.

The students have been asked to attend the examinations, duly bringing with them their respective hall tickets. They have to read all the instructions on the reverse of the tickets without fail, and be present at their centres 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the tests, the authority said.
