Sullia, Apr 28: Administrative officer of Lord Subrahmanyeshwara Temple in Subrahmanya, Dr Harish Kumar, said that the annual free mass marriage function being conducted by the temple, will be organized on Friday May 20 this year.
Those who want to solemnize their marriages at this programme need to register their names at the temple office before May 10. Names of the bride and the groom, and certified copy of their age proof, are necessary. In addition, consent of elders in family, certificate from the gram panchayat concerned about the fact that they are unmarried, and two recent passport size photographs of both the bride and the groom have to be submitted to the temple office, he added.
Dr Kumar further stressed through a release that the minimum marriageable age as per law is 18 years for girls and 21 for boys.
