Mumbai, Oct 10: Senior citizen’s day was celebrated at Ashraya, Nerul, run by the BSKB association on Sunday, October 9. BSKBA vice president Vaman Holla presided over the programme. Entrepreneur Anil Chandrashekar Kurthadkar was the chief guest.

The programme started after Bharatanatyam performance by film actress Krisha Kurup. Senior citizens displayed their comedy and dances.

The day was celebrated under the supervision of Gokula Kalavrinda, ladies wing and youth wing. P C N Rao, member, entertained by dancing to Shammi Kapoor’s famous songs.

Ashraya president Rajaram Acharya, secretary A P K Pothi, joint secretary Prashanth Herle and Gokula Kalavrinda president Vinodini Rao were on the dais. Three doctors who are providing medical care at Ashraya, K Suvarna and Girish Rao who are providing food to the residents and volunteers Ramamurthi Bhat and Irene Attavar were felicitated. Nirmalendu Chamak who is a topper in sports and other activities was felicitated by Ashraya Star title and ladies wing’s Navinya was honoured with ‘Star Trophy’.

Vaman Holla praised the success of the programme and explained the activities at Ashraya. Ashraya president Chandravati Rao read the report of Ashraya.

BSKBA joint secretary Chitra Melmane, ladies wing president Sahana Pothi, Gokula Kalavrinda committee’s Vinodini, youth wing’s Deepak Shivataya, food committee’s Gururaj Bhat, Krishna Manjarabettu and others were present.

Ashraya resident S Ananda sang a prayer. Rajarama Acharya welcomed. Navya Udayashanker and Anish Shivataya compered the programme. Prashanth Herle rendered a vote of thanks.
