Islamabad, May 14 (IANS) India has agreed to provide "comprehensive data" on the Tulbul navigation project in Indian Kashmir to Pakistan, following talks between the two countries' water resources secretaries here Friday.

The two-day talks on the Tulbul Navigation project between India's Water Resources Secretary Dhruv Vijai Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Javed Iqbal was held under the resumed dialogue process between the two South Asian nations.

"In order to address the concerns of both countries, it was agreed that the Indian side shall forward comprehensive technical data to Pakistan within one month," said a joint statement issued after the end of talks.

Pakistan will examine the date and gives its views to India by Sep 15. "Both sides further agreed to take the matter forward in the light of the outcome of such technical consultations and in accordance with the provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty," said the joint statement.

The Tulbul project is on Wular lake in Indian Kashmir. Pakistan says the dam will disrupt the flow of water into the Jhelum river, which flows into Pakistan.
