Bengaluru, Dec 13: The public education department has taken out an order to conduct annual public examination and valuation for students of fifth and eighth grade in all schools that follow state syllabus from the current academic year.
The government has taken this decision to overcome the lack of learning abilities of students and also to know the overall achievement of all schools following state syllabus.
A circular to this effect is released by the department in which it says that it is necessary to analyse learning progress, result of learning implementation by analysing similar achievement and technology by evaluation. Exams should be held at school level and after evaluation, analysis needs to be done. Necessary plan should be made to improve the teaching and learning process where there is lack of learning progress based on subjects, schools, clusters and taluks. The circular calls to undertake necessary preparations for the exams.
The government has ordered to bear the expenses of exam and maintenance expenses from the Karnataka state examinations and assessment board and not burden the students.
A minimum of 25 students should be available in one examination centre for fifth grade. If the number is less, then examination centre should be made in lower and higher primary schools within a radius of two km having necessary fundamental infrastructure. The number for eighth grade examination students should be 50 and similar arrangement needs to be done if there is shortfall of students.
